U.S. House Passes Title VIII Nursing Workforce Act
The Nursing Community Coalition (NCC), of which AAACN is a member, applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Act of 2019 (H.R. 728).
This bipartisan legislation would help to ensure a robust and diverse nursing pipeline, especially in rural and underserved areas, by reauthorizing the Nursing Workforce Development Programs (authorized under Title VIII of the Public Health Service Act [42 U.S.C. 296 et. seq]).
On October 31, 2019, the Senate Health Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) committee voted unanimously to advance the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act (S. 1399). The Nursing Community Coalition will continue to work with partners in the Senate to advance and pass this legislation in the Senate.
Letter to Chairman Alexander and Ranking Member Murray
This NCC letter, endorsed by AAACN, urged the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee to consider and advance Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act of 2019 (S.1399) this year.
